At Tiny Land, we believe play is more than just fun — it’s a foundational part of how children with diverse developmental needs grow, move, and make sense of the world.
That’s why it means so much when organizations like TOTS — a therapeutic childcare center supporting children with diverse developmental needs — choose to incorporate our products into their daily environment.
Because in a setting like this, every choice matters.
Inside TOTS: Where Play Truly Supports Development
TOTS is not a traditional daycare.
Located in the northern suburbs of Chicago: Mundelein and Lake Zurich, TOTS (Therapeutic Child Care Center) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to create a safe, engaging environment where every child is understood, supported, and able to grow under the professional guidance of occupational therapist Agnieszka Moroni.
Here, play is never random.
It is intentional. It is thoughtfully designed. And most importantly, it is meaningful.
In its pilot programs, TOTS has already helped seven children. The center’s exceptional 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio and commitment to keeping tuition rates accessible for families with special needs children ensure that every child receives personalized, developmentally supportive care.

Movement Matters in TOTS
The team at TOTS primarily supports two groups of children:
- Children with physical challenges, including neuromuscular disorders and genetic conditions
- Children who benefit from intensive gross motor activity to support emotional and behavioral regulation
While their needs differ, they share one essential foundation: movement.
It plays a critical role in regulating the nervous system — helping them feel calmer, more focused, and better able to engage with learning and social interaction.
In both cases, movement becomes a bridge:
from activity → to regulation → to cognition.
This is why environments like TOTS prioritize gross motor play as part of everyday development — not as an extra, but as a necessity.
Where Tiny Land Climbing Sets Fit In
In this context, a climbing structure is not just a toy — it becomes a tool for purposeful development.
When children engage with Tiny Land Pikler Triangle, they encounter movement in a self-directed, exploratory way. Some children may pause mid-climb to test their balance, while others experiment with different routes, refining coordination and spatial awareness along the way. Through this process, they build confidence, independence, and body control — often without even realizing it.
- For children with physical challenges, these climbing experiences support steady, meaningful progress in strength, coordination, and motor planning.
- For children working on emotional or behavioral regulation, climbing provides a natural outlet for energy, helping to calm the nervous system and foster focus.
One structure. Different needs. Equally important outcomes. Every climb becomes an opportunity to connect play with real-world growth, turning movement into a bridge between exploration, self-confidence, and learning.
Watch an occupational therapist explain how our climbing structures help children grow and develop.
Designed for Real-World Impact
What makes Tiny Land climbing set especially meaningful is not simply where the product is placed — but why it was chosen.
In a therapeutic setting, products are selected with intention. They must be safe, stable, adaptable, and developmentally supportive.
We’re honored that our wooden climbing frame meets those standards — and can serve as part of a space where children are supported not just in play, but in growth.

Supporting Every Child’s Way of Growing
Every child develops differently. Every child experiences the world in their own way.
But every child deserves opportunities to move, explore, and build confidence — in ways that meet them where they are.
At Tiny Land, we design for these moments: where play becomes a true part of growth, and every small attempt leads to real, meaningful progress.
