Play Experience Recap: Tiny Land Mud Kitchen at Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club

Childhood’s most beautiful moments often happen on sun-filled afternoons.

On May 31th, Tiny Land participated in the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club Farmer’s Market, together with Play Society, bringing a sensory play experience centered on open-ended exploration to participating families in the community.

Playful sensory experience at the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club Farmer’s Market

Children enjoyed the dynamic sensory experience thoughtfully created by Play Society to encourage open-ended play. The courses immediately captured children’s attention throughout the event, fostering curiosity and sustained engagement among participants.

Meanwhile, water play at the Tiny Land Mud Kitchen naturally became the focal point. Children poured, mixed, transferred, and repeated simple actions with deep focus and enthusiasm. The child-led exploration within the activity allowed them to stay engaged for extended periods while exploring freely at their own pace.

Meaningful Moments With Families

Parents and caregivers stayed close throughout the experience—watching, smiling, and sometimes joining in. Many were surprised by how long their children stayed engaged with such simple materials.
These family moments became the most meaningful part of the day.

Meanwhile, the joyful experiences lead us to a simple truth:
When children are given open-ended materials and enough time, they naturally know what to do.
They explore. They repeat. They create their own rhythm of play.

A Growing Presence in Real-Life Spaces

We’re grateful to bring Tiny Land play experiences together with Brittany & Jessica into community settings across Florida.

Each experience reminds us of the same thing:
Play doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, it just needs to be present.
