There’s something powerful about a community showing up for its kids—you can feel it the moment you walk in.

This spring, First Presbyterian Day School in Austin, Texas hosted its Once Upon a Playground fundraiser. The room was filled with energy—parents catching up, kids weaving between tables, laughter carrying through the evening—all centered around one shared goal: creating a better place for children to play, learn, and grow.

And the outcome exceeded every expectation.
Together, families, local businesses, and partners helped raise over $16,900—surpassing the school’s $10,000 goal and even its $15,000 stretch goal. It marked the most successful fundraiser in the school’s history.

We were proud to be part of the event and support a cause that reflects what we care deeply about.

More Than a Fundraiser

What makes this effort so meaningful is not the number itself, but what it will make possible.

It directly supports 95 children and 75 families, helping create a more engaging, play-based environment—especially through improvements to the school’s playground.
Because at this stage of childhood, play isn’t just something kids do.

It’s how they learn to interact with others, build confidence, and make sense of the world around them.

At Tiny Land, we believe those early moments matter. Play shapes how children see themselves—and the world they’re growing into.

When Community Comes Together

One of the most inspiring parts of the evening was the care behind every detail.

As an integral part of the lives of preschool-aged children and families in Northwest Austin, First Presbyterian Day School is dedicated to creating a nurturing, play-based learning environment where children are supported through every stage of their development. In this magical evening, that mission came to life in a very real and tangible way.

But more importantly, the evening created connection—a shared sense that everyone was contributing to something bigger.
That kind of community matters.

Because when people come together around children, the impact doesn’t end when the event is over. It carries forward—into classrooms, onto playgrounds, and into everyday moments of growth.

What Comes Next

First Presbyterian Day School can now move forward with creating a more enriching outdoor space—one where imagination can run a little freer, friendships can grow a little stronger, and childhood can unfold the way it should.

Tiny Land is so honored to support communities like this and continually inspired by what’s possible when people come together with intention, generosity, and heart. We look forward to continuing to support meaningful early learning experiences for children in ways that matter.
