simulated rubber band w/Velcro to hold each bunch together like in a real store- seriously, how cute is that!!?? Honestly, this set is so impressive that everyone that comes to our house and sees my display of this market food (displayed on the Tiny Land Market Stand) cannot believe how amazing this play food is. Everyone wants to play with it...and I am talking about adults! LOL (Not kidding).
Only because I like doing completely honest reviews, covering every aspect, I will note a couple of things that I would change if I could. But please note that the following issues are NOT complaints (because this set is so beautiful), but rather, are minor issues and are NOT enough sway my overall opinion of this set. :)
First, I do have a bit an issue with the eggs. If I could do it over, I would purchase the meat, dairy, and fruit & vegetable sets separately and forget the eggs. The eggs themselves are HUGE! I am talking at least the size of a JUMBO size real egg from the supermarket (maybe even bigger). No lie. It is actually kind of shocking. They are SO big that they do not fit in the carton and the only way to shut the lid is to house the eggs upside down because the bottoms are so large they do not fit in the bottom of the carton. This poses an additional issue of the lid not fitting properly. It is hard to latch because the eggs are too big for the size of the carton and this creates a slight "warp" in the opening of the latch and if not VERY careful, it will easily tear. I do not expect this to last long once my grandbaby starts to play with it. I wish I would have returned it, but it is too late now. I am honestly surprised at this considering the well thought-out design of everything else. While the sticker on top of the egg carton is realistic and adorable, I will be purchasing a different brand of eggs for playing with because this carton is not going to hold up. You cannot expect little toddler hands to be "careful" enough with this in order to keep it intact. That's not fun for anyone.
The only other thing is the color of the strawberries. Compared to the other items in the set, they are not as realistic looking because they are a pink/coral color instead of red. I have seen in some of the review photos that some of the berries look pink and some look red. I am not sure if this is due to different cameras or if Tiny Land changed the color, but it I thought it should be noted. We still love them and they are still super cute, but they are not realistic looking because of it and it is the only negative thing that a couple of people pointed out that saw our market stand. I think the only reason was because the other items are SO unbelievably real looking that the strawberries stood out.
I actually kind of feel bad about the two negative things I said because this set is so adorable, beautiful and SO worth the money. But again, I just wanted to be as honest as possible because sometimes trivial issues like this matter to some people. I did not include photos because I felt it wasn't necessary. I looked through all of the photos that others posted and I couldn't post any that would be any better, so know that the photos on here ARE true to life. You will not be disappointed with this set, so go ahead and go for it! You won't regret it! :)
