For children, play is one of the first ways they discover the world. A simple step, climb, or movement challenge can become a moment of discovery — helping children build confidence, develop coordination, and explore through hands-on play.
This summer, Tiny Land joined The GreenHouse Children’s Yoga for The GreenHouse Children’s Yoga on the Greenway, a free outdoor children’s yoga series held at Boston Greenway Park.
From May through July 2026, families gathered every Sunday to enjoy a playful outdoor experience combining children’s yoga, storytelling, movement games, and active play.
The event created a welcoming environment where children could move freely, try new challenges, and connect with others through meaningful play.
Bringing Play-Based Learning Into the Outdoors
Children’s yoga goes beyond traditional poses and stretches. Through songs, stories, breathing exercises, and imaginative movement activities, children are encouraged to develop body awareness, confidence, and emotional skills in ways that feel natural and engaging.
During the Greenway sessions, children explored movement through playful yoga activities while enjoying the benefits of being outdoors.
The open park setting allowed children to follow their curiosity, discover new challenges, and experience how movement and play can support their growth.
Turning Movement Into Creative Play Experiences
As part of the event experience, children explored Tiny Land active play products, including stepping stones and soft climbing blocks.
Designed to encourage open-ended play, these elements supported children as they practiced balance, coordination, and gross motor skills.
Children carefully navigated stepping challenges, experimented with climbing movements, and created their own play paths with the soft blocks.
Rather than following one specific way to play, children were encouraged to use their imagination, make discoveries, and build confidence through child-led exploration.
Creating Thoughtfully Designed Play Spaces for Growing Children
At Tiny Land, we believe thoughtfully designed play spaces can inspire children to learn, imagine, and grow.
Whether at home, in classrooms, or community spaces, meaningful play experiences help children strengthen physical skills, develop creativity, build independence, and connect with others.
By partnering with organizations that share our commitment to children’s wellness and play-based learning, Tiny Land continues to bring purposeful play experiences into real family environments beyond the home.
We are grateful to The GreenHouse Children’s Yoga, founder Selena Natale, and every family who joined the Greenway sessions this summer.
Thank you for creating an inclusive and joyful environment where children could move, explore, and grow through play.
