Military families navigate unique challenges every day as their loved ones serve our country.

Behind long shifts, overnight duty, temporary assignments, and deployments are families adapting to change—and children whose everyday lives change along with them.

At Tiny Land, we believe those children deserve spaces where they can feel safe, cared for, and free to simply play, explore, and be themselves.

That is why we were proud to donate our BistroSwitch Play Kitchen to Sunshine Sprouts Childcare LLC, a Military Family Child Care (FCC) program serving military families in Florida.

A Mission Born From Experience

Sunshine Sprouts is a new childcare program founded by Nadia, who understands the challenges military families face firsthand.

Opened in July 2025, the program was inspired in part by Nadia's own experience serving on active duty.

As a former service member, she experienced firsthand how difficult it could be to find childcare that accommodated long workdays and the unpredictable schedules that can come with military life.

That experience inspired her to create the kind of childcare environment she once needed herself.

Today, Sunshine Sprouts provides home-based childcare for a small group of children from toddler to preschool age.

All of the families it serves are military families, including active-duty families whose schedules may involve 10- to 12-hour shifts, overnight and weekend work, temporary assignments, and extended deployments.

To help meet these needs, Sunshine Sprouts offers extended-hour care, overnight care, weekend care, and subsidy programs.

Its goal is to provide children with a warm and consistent environment while giving military parents dependable childcare that works with the demands of their service.

A Place Where Children Can Learn Through Play

What especially connected Tiny Land with Sunshine Sprouts is its approach to early childhood learning.

The program emphasizes imaginative play, open-ended materials, exploration, independence, and hands-on experiences rather than relying primarily on screens or highly structured activities.

Children may spend their days exploring nature, gardening, engaging in sensory and water play, building, creating, and following their own interests.

This philosophy closely reflects Tiny Land's belief that play gives children opportunities to imagine, make choices, experiment, and discover the world around them.

We believe children benefit when they have the freedom to decide what a toy becomes and where their imagination takes them.

Tiny Land's Support for Sunshine Sprouts

To help enrich this play-based environment, Tiny Land donated BistroSwitch Play Kitchen to Sunshine Sprouts Childcare.

We hope the product will become another resource for open-ended play—giving children another way to create their own stories, explore new ideas, and engage with their surroundings.

For Tiny Land, this donation is about recognizing the families behind military service and the children growing up alongside it.

When parents are busy serving our country, we want their children to feel cared for, supported, and valued too.

We are grateful to Sunshine Sprouts for creating a flexible and nurturing childcare environment for military families and for making play an important part of children's everyday experiences.

To the military families who serve our country, thank you. And to the children behind that service, we hope there is always a little more room to play.
